OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Paper Trains(2018-) is a student-led literary journal currently directed by its founder & Editor and Chief Meg Shenoy. Our mission is to foster artistic expression and cultivate awareness for global issues through implementation of the humanities, in addition to providing a voice for young and emerging writers. We hope to discover and unite upcoming artists through their literary expression and photography. We believe it is crucial to provide a platform for all talented artists, regardless of their ethnic, financial, and political backgrounds. With a high value on pursuit of passion, we hope to inspire all ages to explore their artistry!
Meg Shenoy(Editor in Chief)
Meg Shenoy is an Indian American writer, artist, and secondary student. She has received numerous accolades for her writing including a Scholastic 2019 Gold Key, a Texas Literary and Fine Arts Festival Blue Ribbon, and the Texas Reflections Award. In 2015, her work was published in an educational textbook written by Gretchen Bernabei, 'Text Structures from the Masters' . She also served as editor of the features section of 'The Saga' student journalism publication and Editor in Chief of Breaking News electronic Newsletter, a family-run publication which operated for 5 years. In art, Meg has received a Visual Arts and Scholastic Event medal and Texas French Symposium State Award. She is experienced in many forms including colored pencil, oil, and watercolor. When she's not writing or completing art, Meg enjoy a plethora of other hobbies including ballet dancing, reading (obviously), and watching movies.
